How Zagg’s Branding Resonates with Today’s Youthful Energy Drink Market
From the moment I first encountered the Zagg brand at a friend’s refrigerator, where he also shot the brand’s promotional campaign, I have maintained a keen interest in and awareness of it.

Zagg’s color and design choices collectively project a brand that provides a steady, “natural energy boost”. Embracing hope and “youthful vigor”, the brand distinguishes itself from its rivals, resonating with Africa’s young populace.
Zagg, a standout in the African energy drinks market, utilizes a blend of orange and yellow in its branding.
These shades offer a fresh perspective on traditional malt colors, exuding a “natural energy boost” and “unique vitality” without the intensity of a harsh red.
They signify a more “organic energy surge”, setting Zagg apart from other energy drinks.
A bold black logo complements the lively colors.
Black, often associated with power and elegance in branding, offers a sense of stability amidst the vibrant “youthful vigor” of the other colors.
A distinct lightning bolt is featured.

This design choice is a response to the typical aggressive symbols in the energy sector.
The bolt, symbolizing “enduring vitality”, offers a less confrontational image but retains its symbolic strength, indicating consistent, uplifting energy.
The drink’s diverse ingredients are depicted using a half-tone pattern.
This design introduces a dynamic gradient, symbolizing Africa’s “unique vitality” and setting the Zagg brand apart in the energy drink landscape.
